FILM

ROLE
Director/Designer

Mass Media Time Machine

Problem

Create a filmic self-portrait, one that speaks to influences, ideas, and evolution of thoughts and ideas.

Solution

Assembling a vast trove of pop culture ephemera, the film is constructed as an homage to the pervasive influence of television, consumerism, and Pop Art. The film turns from the influences of TV, swimming, and skateboarding toward cars, girls, and surfing. Seen as an assemblage, the film offers a portrait of fun, sun, and the optimism that results from seeing the world as an ever-improving prospect.

Results

People connect with different touchpoints, but everyone seems to acknowledge that the film has a purity and innocence that can’t be denied.
