Problem

Create a short film to accompany the famous Anne Sexton poem that was written while in the confines of a mental institution.

Solution

The poetry is dreamy, symbolic, and full of fragility. This solution frames the ideas in the glow of soft focus, slow motion, and ethereal quality. The emphasis is on bringing out the beauty of living on the edge of personal destruction.

Results

Deeply lush and constructed of dreams, the end result peers out from under the gauze of asylum medications.
