Riptide focuses attention on the turmoil at its center. Colorful and seemingly serene, the composition comes to life around the dragon, struggling with the tide. Layers of blue, turquoise, and lime green emerge from the background in dimensional relief. Architectural and craft artifacts are upcycled from sources around the world, especially Asia, and combine to create a picture of turbulence, as the pieces wrestle across the broad wood surface.
