Icebreaker is a torrent along difficult shores. A steamer cuts through the ice directly at us. Determination is the key ingredient. In the depths, the warriors prepare to fight. Powerful carved relics from China inspired this assemblage, built on acrylic painted background and studio scraps of ebony. Barn finds from Kentucky, flea markets, and a church in Italy contribute to the story. Layer upon layer, this piece is powerful and ultimately surprising in the calmness behind the statement.
