Torchlight is an aspirational piece. Thinking about achievement and striving are key elements that inspired this painting. If you take a good look, the story is all there as you see it. For me, it started when the yarn spinner began to resemble an Olympic torch. The components that support this ‘ascension’ come from England, Europe, and Asia.
